President – Mr. Royston La HeeMr. La Hee has been President of the Grenada Olympic Committee (GOC) since 1984 in which year, the Grenada Olympic Committee was recongnised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and participated in its first Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA. With almost 30 years experience as President, he has seen both the GOC and sports develop greatly in the country.
He has been involved in a variety of sports including Football and Basketball. While a member of the Grenada Football Association, he served as Treasurer, General Secretary and President. He also served as President of the Grenada Basketball Association.
In recognition of his services to sports, he was honoured by Queen Elizabeth II with the award of Member of the British Expire (MBE).
Mr. La Hee is a Director of Geo. F. Huggins & Co. (G’da) Ltd. with primary responsibility for its Automotive Division.
General Secretary - Mrs. Veda Bruno-VictorMrs. Bruno–Victor has been involved with the GOC since 1994. A former national netball athlete, she coached the West Indies Netball Team and travelled to Australia, England and throughout the Caribbean. She also served in executive positions in both the Grenada Netball and Grenada Amateur Athletic Associations for many years.
Mrs. Bruno-Victor is a long standing Executive Member of the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO).
For her services to sports in Grenada and the Caribbean, Mrs. Veda Bruno-Victor was awarded the Officer of the British Empire (OBE) Medal by Queen Elizabeth II.
She has held several permanent secretary positions in government ministries. At present, she is the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Ecclesiastic Affairs.
Assistant General Secretary - Lucy SteeleMrs. Steele has been the Assistant General Secretary of the Grenada Olympic Committee since 2000. She was both a former Secretary and President of Grenada Amateur Swimming Association before joining the Executive of the GOC. She has served as the Chef de Mission for five (5) international games: XIX CAC Games in El Salvador 2002, XVII Commonwealth Games in Melbourne 2006, XV Pan Am Games in Rio 2007, III Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune India 2008 and the first Olympic Youth Games in Singapore 2010
She has been active with the Olympic Academy through which she shares the rich values of the culture of life with our young athletes.
Mrs. Steele worked in Trinidad and was transferred in 1968 by the accounting firm of Pannell Fitzpatrick to the Isle of Spice. She has been both a career and committed family woman who now enjoys her retirement as she assists the GOC and sports in general.
1st Vice President - Mr.Charles George
Mr. George is the current President of the Grenada Athletic Association (2000 - present ) and served the then Grenada Athletic & Cycling Athletic Association as Assistant Secretary and Secretary. Among his several administrative accomplishments were Chairman, Local Organising Committees for the 2000 Carifta Games and 2003 Central American and Caribbean Senior Track & Field Championships – both held in Grenada.
Mr. George is a Director of Geo. F. Huggins & Co. (G’da) Ltd. with primary responsibility for its Petroleum Division
2nd Vice President - Mr. Ralph A James
Mr. James has held the presidency of the Boxing Association of Grenada, (2008 - present), the Caribbean Amateur Boxing Association (2007 - 2010) and has has served in different positions on the Executive Committee of the Grenada Basketball Association. He also served as an AIBA International Referee Judge (2009 - 2013). Among his several sporting functions were, Chef de Mission, Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Games 2010 and Member of Interim Committee responsible for the implementation for Grenada’s Sports Policy and establishment of Parish Councils.
Mr. James is employed with Sissons Paint (G’da) Limited with primary responsibility for Sales & Marketing.
Treasurer - Mr. Kingsley AshbyMr. Ashby joined the Grenada Olympic Committee in 2000 as the 2nd Vice President after being an active member of the Grenada Amateur Swimming Association for more than ten years. He is a ceritified swim coach as well as certified swimming official.
Mr. Ashby is a Commercial Banker by profession and is employed with the Bank of Nova Scotia. He brings to the Grenada Olympic Committee a wealth of financial knowledge and experience.
