London 2012 Athletes

Rondell is a track and field sprinter who specializes in the 400 meters. He has represented his country at two World Championships in Athletics and was a 400 m world finalist in 2011. His personal best for the event is 44.65 seconds.

He has won medals at junior level at the CARIFTA Games and Pan American Junior Championships. He helped set a Grenadian record of 3:04.69 minutes for the 4×400 meters relay in 2011.

Trish is a graduate of University of Alabama. She has represented Grenada at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China and the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India. She set her personal best in the 200 meters in 2008 in Arkansas with a time of 23.12. She is currently training in Texas in preparation for the Olympic Games.

Trish Bartholomew

Neisha is a middle distance runner who specializes in the 800 metres. Her personal best is 2:00.09 minutes, achieved at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. This is the Grenadian record. She also holds the 1500 metres record with 4:23.24 minutes, achieved in March 2008 in Baton Rouge

Kevin a track athlete who competes in the 100, 200 and 400 meter distances. He competed in the 2011 Penn Relays as a member of the 4x400 men’s relay team with Kirani James, Rondell Bartholomew and Joel Redhead. He is a graduate of Morgan State University.

Kevin Bowen

Kurt currently attends Boise State University in Idaho. He won the Men’s Heptathlon with a personal best of 5,771 points after seven events at the Boise State University Team Challenge at the Jackson Track in Nampo, Idaho. His previous best was 5,691 points at the same meet last February.

Felix won the long jump (7.66m), shot put (12.86m) and the high jump (2.14m). He was second in the 60m dash (7.11secs), third in the 60m hurdles (8.51 secs), third in the pole vault (4.45m) and fourth in the 1,000m (2:51.01).

Kurt Felix

Kirani is a sprinter who specializes in the 200 and 400 metres. He is the reigning 400 metres world champion. Prodigious from a young age, he ran the fastest 400 m times ever by a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old. He won a series of gold medals at the CARIFTA Games and the Commonwealth Youth Games and rose on the international stage with 400 m silver medals at the 2007 World Youth and 2008 World Junior Championships. James became the first athlete to run a 200/400 double at the 2009 World Youth Championships and was the 2010 World Junior Champion.

He gained an athletic scholarship at the University of Alabama and won back-to-back NCAA Outdoor Championship titles in his first two years. James is the third fastest of all-time indoors (44.80 seconds) and ran a personal best of 44.36 at the 2011 IAAF Diamond League in Zürich.

Randy is a track and field athlete competing in triple jump. He represented Grenada at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics, and has also competed at World Championship level indoors and outdoors. He won the bronze medal at the 2008 IAAF World Athletics Final. His personal best jump is 17.49 metres, achieved in May 2008 in São Paulo. This is the current Grenadian record. Lewis attended Wichita State University where he is in the Hall of Fame for Track and Field. He won four individual titles in the Missouri Valley Conference and he is a three time NCAA All American. He also currently owns the triple jump records (indoor and outdoor) at Wichita State University.

Andon Mitchell garnered first-place honors in the 100 meters at the 2009 Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships with a personal-best time of 10.26 seconds. The senior, who competed in the 100 meters at the NCAA Championships, went into nationals with the No. 20 ranked time in the NCAA in the event. He placed sixth overall at the MWC Outdoor Championships in the 200 with a time of 21.22 seconds. Andon helped the men's 4x100 win the conference championship with a seasonal-best time of 39.42 seconds. He Ran the anchor leg on the 4x100 squad that finished third overall at the Midwest Regional. Andon won the 60-meter title for the second-consecutive season during the indoor season with a time of 6.81 seconds.

Esau attends Nova South-Eastern University (NSU) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Simpson is one of Grenada’s young talented swimmers who is hoping to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games. He represented Grenada at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. He attended the 2012 NCAA Division II swimming championships in Texas, where he received All-American time in the 400 freestyle relay.

Esau Simpson

Andrea is a taekwondo athlete who specializes in the 67 kg category. She has had the opportunity to train in both Canada and Cuba, in hopes of qualifying for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. She recently placed 3rd at the Pan American Qualification Tournament, held in Querétaro Mexicoin November. Andrea also represented Grenada at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. Andrea has put her career as a lawyer on hold in Toronto to pursue her Olympic dream.

Patricia is a track and field athlete who competes in both the high jump and triple jump. Her personal best jump is 6.71 metres, achieved in March 2008 in Atlanta. This is the Grenadian record. She also holds the Grenadian records in the high jump, with 1.85 metres, and the triple jump with 13.87 metres. Patricia is a graduate of the University of Georgia and is currently training in Toronto, Canada.

Janelle is a track and field athlete who competes in the 200 meters. She won the bronze medal at the 2008 World Junior Championships . Her personal best times are 11.65 seconds in the 100 meters and 22.91 seconds in the 200 meters.  Janelle was a member of Grenada's track team for the 13th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Daegu, South Korea, August 27 to September 4, 2011. She was a semi-finalist in the Women's 200m dash. Previously, she attended South Plains College in Texas where she was a member of the school's record 4x100 and 4x400m relays teams at the National Junior Athletic Association (NJCAA). She is currently a student/athlete at Wayland Baptist University in Texas.

Janelle Redhead

Joel is a track and field sprinter who specializes in the 200 and 400 meters. He recently represented Grenada at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. His best time in the 400 meters was a time of 46.20, set in 2011 in Clermont, Florida. Joel is the brother of Janelle Redhead, who will also be competing in London.

NJCAA silver medalist in 400 (55.37) and finished fifth in NJCAA 200 (23.78). Outdoors in 2011, earned another silver medal in 400 at NJCAA Championships with a career best of 53.24 During collegiate season, posted three victories in Baltimore, College Park, Md., and Newport News, Va. ... Ran in heats of CAC Games in Puerto Rico and Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. Ran on Grenada 4 x 400 relay that placed sixth at Penn Relays in 3:36.03.
